Welcome to MYDFL.org

"YOU are the future of America."  You've probably heard a variation on this phrase at every commencement speech you've ever attended.  Just about any time someone addresses a group of youths, the "future" is invoked as some mystical time at which the young will find themselves empowered.

The Minnesota Young DFL (MYDFL) is here to tell you that you are not the future of America.  You are America.  Right now.

MYDFL is driven by the reality that true power resides in people.  We are organizing young people to achieve political power through issue advocacy, electoral campaigns and party influence.  With these tools of empowerment, young people are not bystanders of tomorrow, but the leaders of today.

Don/t let anyone tell you that your time will come.  Your time is here.  Join us today.

  College Democrats

MYDFL and College Democrats of Minnesota merged in 2007.  College democrats have done a fantastic job of actively bringing MYDFL's message to Minnesota's many and diverse institutes of higher learning.  Every chapter chair is a member of the MYDFL board of directors, and retains the right to vote on actions MYDFL may decide to take, and help to determine the mission and direction of MYDFL.

  Membership

MYDFL is open to all Minnesotans under age 36.  We are not political insiders, but people who affect the political process.  We are not handed our beliefs, candidates or party platforms, but we promote issues important to young people, support candidates who address our beliefs, and shape the party platform.
